Mass Effect 3 multiplayer features may have been outed by a South African retailer.

While far from confirmation of traditional multiplayer features for the third in the BioWare series, it does add weight to strong rumours surrounding the issue already.
Xbox World is set to reveal a 'killer new feature' for Mass Effect 3 next month with some speculating that it could well be multiplayer.
The first hint that the game would contain multiplayer, however, came much earlier. It slipped out in a BioWare job listing for a 'Multiplayer programmer (Mass Effect Franchise)'.
Since then industry 'sources' and other reports have supported claims that the game will come with a "Horde-style multiplayer mode," as well as established multiplayer types such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
But BioWare dismissed forum chatter on the subject when a rep said: "Mass Effect 3 is a single-player game."

Hmmm, i still on the fence with this. I was kinda hoping for coop via split screen but then again, if the game is still 5 months off, they could possible create the most unique (sci fi) multi-player experience that's as epic as the campaign.
I'm intrigue by the horde style mode though if it's on par with Halo Reach's fire fight and Gears.
Please don't balls it up!!!

Personally I cant see the game needing MP. But as long as it doesn't detract from the SP then whatever.

Can't blame Bioware for trying to incorporate an MP mode, ME is suitable for it IMO and all devs want to keep gamers playing their titles one way or the other. Not for me though, I'll be playing through campaign at least 6 times and will easily get my money's worth from that alone.

Co-op is what the fans want, we don't want a crappy watered down team deathmatch style game, give us Co-op or give us nothing.

This really p***es me off. Yet another predominately great Single Player franchise now made worse with a shoehorned in Multiplayer mode that no one wanted or asked for (like Assassins Creed, Metro, Bioshock, Uncharted, countless others for example) that devs feel they HAVE to include for some unknown, ridiculous reason, no doubt making the final game shorter and of a lower quality as a result. When will they get it? No ones going to give up their existing online franchises to play online on this. People who buy this game do so because its SINGLE PLAYER ffs.

Although I agree it doesn't need multi-player, and no matter how good they managed to make it probably still won't interest me, you can't possibly say that its been made worse by this multi-player because you haven't played the game at all and they haven't said "Well we had to drop out a few single-player missions to fit in the multi-player" or anything. Its them adding MORE things to the game and as far as I'm concerned even if its not something that I find interesting in particular, its always nice for them to try new things and appeal to bigger audiences.

It wont make single player worse. Its just an extra choice. Some games have surprised when they have added multiplayer when it didnt seem liek an obvious thing to do, like Uncharted and Assasins creed. So dont give up all hope yet.

(I wouldn't mind co-op) BIOWARE WHY ARE YOU ALIENATING YOUR CORE CONSUMERS!

I strongly disagree. All the games I mentioned were shorter than their previous titles and had more bugs than a bait store, all because the development team were forced to cut their resources in half to cater for a mode no one who liked those games wanted, cared about or asked for.

Here here @ Bright Light and BenThomasFoster
I'm sure the game will come away great, hopefully epic if it can capture the magic from 1 and the deepness of 2
