New UK chart-topper FIFA 12 has secured the third-biggest UK All Formats launch week in history, ahead of Grand Theft Auto IV and only behind Call of Duty titles Black Ops at No.1 and Modern Warfare 2 at No.2.

Xbox 360 continues to be the format of choice with a 54 percent share of sales (up 27 percent from last year), compared to PS3's 44 percent (up 11 percent from last year).
See why we think it's a must-have game by casting your eyes over our FIFA 12 review.

Sorry but how is the 360 the format of choice? It's not as if people have to decide which platform they have to buy it on it's just a case that in the UK the 360 is more popular than the PS3, therefore you'd expect it come out on top.

Congrats on staring a fanboy war but i'll clarify it for you.
I don't believe there are any stats on UK for how many xbox's and PS3 sold ect ect but in Europe there have been more ps3 sold. I'm just assuming the UK has followed the trend in europe.

is chart-track UK only?

No its followed the trend much closer to that of Americas with 360, just not quite so one sided.

There are figures proving xbox is leading Sony in the UK and only last month one of the Sony execs stated the same thing and it's something they are keen to address. Dig around CVG if you don't believe me.

you do have a point my friend
FIFA 09
PS3- 2.1 million
360- 2.0 million
FIFA 10
PS3- 3.6 million
360- 2.7 million
FIFA 11
PS3- 4.5 million
360- 3,4 million
CVG are just obviously just talking about the UK sales rather than the Worldwide or European sales.

Console sales wise I believe the 360 holds the UK lead but Europe as a whole favours the PS3.

Well don't assume. You are wrong, the UK hasn't followed trend. And at no point was my post fanboyish.
