Mass Effect 3 multiplayer has finally been confirmed by Australian mag PC PowerPlay.
The feature, which is brand new for the BioWare series, is revealed on the PowerPlay website along with a picture of the issue carrying the details.
"That's right - Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer!" proclaims the site.
"We travel to BioWare's office in Edmonton for hands-on time with the series' first foray into online gameplay, and chat with Mass Effect Series Producer and Mass Effect 3 Project Director Casey Hudson about the decision to go multiplayer in the epic battle for the galaxy."
The first hint that Mass Effect 3 would contain multiplayer came from a BioWare job listing titled 'Multiplayer programmer (Mass Effect Franchise)'.
Since then CVG's own industry 'sources' and other reports have supported claims that the game will come with a "Horde-style multiplayer mode," as well as established multiplayer types such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
But BioWare dismissed forum chatter on the subject when a rep said: "Mass Effect 3 is a single-player game." Not anymore it seems.
