Microsoft is "targeting" a November 25 launch for its next major Xbox Live update.

GigaOM was told of the Black Friday November launch date by sources who claimed the code the new Xbox Live apps will run on is based on a modified version of Microsoft's Silverlight development framework.
Microsoft's official philosophy for the new dashboard is "all the entertainment you want, with the people you care about, made easy." See it in action here.

Can't wait
Now I don't have a PS3 it's not ideal sitting at the computer to watch Facejacker on 4oD, it's not comfortable. Well done MS. Now put your hands in them deep pockets and bring out some new IP exclusives.

Really stupid question; will the Bing search engine effectively be a web browser or just used to browse films/ music/ crisps?

Not a stupid question at all. It won't be a fully fledged browser, just allows you to search for films and music that are on the marketplace. Plus crisps.

As an owner of both consoles this new dashboard I like. Neat organised more like PS3's XMB but even better.
The current 360 dashboard is a mess to my OCD eyes. Bring it on.

You can type it in using the on screen keyboard or use your headset...

This looks great. Xbox doing well at the moment, good sales, new dashboard....need more original IPS and Exclusives though. Do you think the reason why MS are not bothering with exclusives at the moment is because they are saving them for the Nextbox?
