Sony has confirmed that every Vita game will launch simultaneously at retail and digitally via the PlayStation Network.
Speaking during a developer-focused GDC Online session, Sony's Chris Norden said this was in part so "you can just leave everything on the Vita - it's a completely-self contained device".
"PSN is supported from day one, right out of the box at launch," he added, according to Gamasutra.
Vita games will cost less to download from PSN than they will to purchase in boxed form at retail, Sony Japan revealed earlier this week.
Norden also said it was important that Vita supported cross-game voice and text chat, given that the much-requested feature isn't possible on PS3.
"We know everybody wants it on PS3 so we're doing it on Vita," he said.
