Need for Speed: The Run - First look at 'Hot Pursuit' style mode

Video: CVG gets behind the scenes look at Challenge Series

EA has announced the Hot Pursuit-esque Challenge Series mode for Need for Speed: The Run.

The mode consists of more than 70 individual racing challenges, with friends' lap times constantly measured against your own performance via the excellent Autolog ranking system.

The challenges range from intense checkpoint dashes through city traffic, racing through specific checkpoints before the allocated time runs out, to ultra-technical seven minute courses along mountain paths..

There are even courses based on older Need for Speed games, such as Carbon, Most Wanted and Underground.

CVG travelled to Vancouver this week to get hands-on time with the mode and chat to developer Black Box. See the first footage and part of our chat in the video below.

Need for Speed: The Run is out on November 18 in Europe.

Lol, CVG went to EA's CD? I was due to go there but cancelled just before due to ongoing work. Lemme guess, are you at the sutton hotel too? :P I was booked in there.
Hope you guys enjoyed the event (and the limo if you got those too, like the EA Team did.)

"A coast to coast race.. racing from San Francisco to New York"... in a FLOATING car by the look of it!

And can all games designers / producers / etc. please try answering a single blooming question without first saying "So". It's doing my nut in. When did everyone start doing that? And can they bleeding well jack it in!
