Nintendo could be preparing to announce a new 'Pokemon Grey' title if a newly-registered web domain is anything to go by.

A 'Grey' game, while rather naff-sounding, would follow Nintendo's typical release conventions with the Pokemon series, each iteration of which has first released with two versions, later followed by a third (note, Pokemon Red/Blue followed by Yellow, or Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, followed by Platinum).
Could Pokemon Black/White be set for a third version?
Pokémon Black & White sold over 1.08 million copies combined in their first day on sale in the US, smashing all previous sales records for the series.

And there's the mystery about Nintendo's upcoming internet conference thing answered. Good news for fans I guess, but not for me

Domains get registered all the time. Doubt this means there will be an announcement soon, or that it will even be called pokemon grey. What is true is that the vita doesn't have much of a chance because at some point or another they will announce a pokemon that probably uses the same technology sony pioneered, and will just call any handheld war to an end. It's a shame really.

I hope so, I could really go for some gen 5 Battle Frontier action right now, but of course, it doesn't exist yet. Not to mention gen 5 mon will probably be able to be released in the third version, I want that Contrary Serperior!
Actually it's highly possible to be the third version, it's been over a year since Black and White were released in Japan, so it could be released at any time between now and the next two years and be on time, but given how it'll probably be for the DS with some 3DS features I'd imagine they want to release it sooner rather than later. Heck, that'll still be true if the release it for the 3DS only.

Like I said on GI, why is this story only popping up now? The article from Nibuzz is 2 months old. And it's not like domain = imminent announcement of a game.

It doesn't necessarily mean it's coming along, it's could just be a placeholder to stop other people using the name. They've done that before, with domain names and copyrighted stuffs, it's not a first. Personally I think Grey (or Gray) would be a pretty poor choice of name for any Pokemon game, even if it is the obvious one to go for after Black and White. An interesting type of grey would probably be better from a marketing point of view, something like Charcoal, Griseous, Azure or maybe a metal like Pewter or Steel or something. Grey just sounds naff, not to mention has pretty dull connotations.

The PokemonGray.com domain was registered in 2008 along with many others including PokemonBrown.com which indicates that this is a complete crock
Why it's spreading now when it's spread like 4 times beforehand, I don't know. However, this is not indicative of any imminent announcement

I'm just going to wait for Pokemon Dark Black and Light White.

Or Light Black and Dark White? Two versions of the '3rd' game? They've already bucked tradition enough times this gen, I wouldn't put it past them

The next gen should be Pokemon Dusk and Dawn

Ew, all those "interesting" names are just meh, especially because the original two were plain shades, black and white, you just don't throw something like "Griseous" or "Steel" out there when you're first two were nothing like such things. From a Marketing point of view, Grey would not only be the most obvious, but the most conducive name.
Edit: Buuut, that's just the way I see it, to each his own I suppose
