Sony Pictures is close to finalising a deal with Ubisoft to bring the Assassin's creed franchise to the big screen.
The firm is in the closing stages of negotiations to adapt and distribute the popular series for cinema, having landed the film rights following a bidding war with other studios including Universal, Variety reports.
It also claims Sony will likely co-produce and co-finance the production with Ubisoft.
"As we've stated before, Ubisoft is actively looking for film opportunities for our top brands," a Ubisoft spokeswoman told the site, without confirming any details of the talks. "There is high interest from top Hollywood studios to collaborate on these brands."
Back in May, Ubisoft said it wanted to bring Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon to the big screen.
