World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has been crowned the Golden Joystick 2011 MMO of the Year, which was sort of expected really. It is, after all, the biggest MMO in the world.

Released on December 7 2010, Cataclysm introduced thousands of new quests, new lands to explore and extensively revamped the world (of Warcraft), making it one of Blizzard's most ambitious expansions yet.

The game received large praise and big sales, selling over 4.7 million units in its first month of availability.

The runners-up in the MMO section are newcomer Rift and Eve Online: Incarna in third place.

Let us know what you thought was the best MMO in the comments below.

Lame! -.- Grats Rift for being a runner up. Tough competition to go up against. I will say though. Less than a year into it and 2nd place. Hell yeah.
