Minecraft Xbox 360 pushed to spring 2012

Indie world-building hit taking a bit longer to build for console

The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft will launch in spring 2012, not this winter as initially announced by Microsoft.

When the game was revealed as an Xbox 360 console exclusive at E3 in June, Microsoft said it would "come to life this winter in a whole new way through the magic of Kinect and also feature cross-functionality between the PC and Xbox 360 versions".

However, one of the Microsoft Studios producers working on the title used Twitter yesterday to announce that the game will now hit Xbox Live Arcade in spring 2012.

Minecraft mastermind Markus Persson confirmed yesterday that the XBLA version of Minecraft will be playable for the first time at MineCon in Las Vegas next month, while also releasing the following teaser video.
