Just Cause 3 is in development and scheduled for release next year.
Back in 2010, fresh from celebrating Just Cause 2's chart-topping UK debut, Avalanche studio head Christofer Sundberg said the Swedish developer was keen on creating a third instalment in the series.
"We are absolutely interested in working with the Just Cause IP again," he said, adding that fans "shouldn't be surprised" to see a follow-up to the second game.

Love the Just Cause series. Just hope they keep the open world with no limits but i would like to see:
an improvement over the ai
shooting being tweaked
more weapons/upgrades and vehicles-customisation perhaps
maybe improve the voice acting...just a little bit
An new environment/setting-the world of Panau was great but it would be nice to change the setting for the third...
Even if those do not happen, i'll be very happy with JC3
Please, let it be a summer release as 2012 has already got some big games coming out early on-GR:FS, ME3, Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing, Kinect bits and bobs etc...

They should make the main character have more normal abilities, too much reliance on that grappling device that I would have liked. He can't climb up seemingly easily traversed things within the game world, if you can't jump up onto it then you have to grapple your way up, how stupid is that for climbing up things that you are right in front of? Needs more thought, but the game world is awesome in its own right, the character is the one who suffers from lack of abilities he has no hand to hand combat attacks at all, can only shoot and use his whip. Can't grapple then punch or kick the foe, what happened to the simple mechanics that most sandbox game characters usually have?

Good game, but jesus, the gfx in JC2 is shoddy. They really need to do some serious work with the resolution and detaling in models, faces etc. Just not up to expectations this...

God I hope the make the PC version more moddable, there was a lot of people who were ready to boost the sales by modding, except they couldn't really since the way was user hostile in that regard.
And for gods sake have a default way to remove the hud for screenshots!
