Paris and war-torn Iranian cities are good and all, but we'd like just a bit more variety in the map selection. How about a map set in the winter, covered in snow? Or a jungle setting, with plenty of opportunities for players to stealth their way to the objective? Or a New York based map, since it was so underused in the campaign.
Basically just look at Bad Company 2 and take a look at the sort of variety that game had in the map selection. Granted, we haven't played a whole lot of the game yet, but from what we've dipped into, Battlefield 3 looks just a tad lacking in comparison. The Operation Firestorm and Kharg Island maps look pretty much identical on team deathmatch.
We're hoping DICE can maybe go some way to rectifying this with some map packs for Battlefield 3 in future (as long as they're not too expensive), but for the time being, we'll have to make do with Paris streets and shipping container mazes.
