Despite the success of Ubisoft's From Dust, French producer Eric Chahi says there are 'no plans' for a sequel.

"And also, I have a strong desire to create something very original," he added.
Chahi wouldn't give up much information on what he's working on next, but did hint: "I want to continue to create systemic worlds and complex systems so that while you're playing you interact with it. A system with emergence. But precisely, I don't know yet."
According to Ubisoft, the the god game sold more copies on its first day on sale than any previous digital title from the French publishing giant.
Without providing exact figures, the firm said day-one sales of From Dust beat the company's former best-selling XBLA title by a margin of 45 percent.

Might've done well if they hadn't p**sed on PC gamers as usual. Very PC friendly game.

A real shame as the game only really got going in the last few chapters. I honestly thought the From Dust was more a tutorial for what (I thought) was to come. It's a silly move if there isn't more to it as the potential is huge.

I reckon they could have done a lot more with that game than what we got, it had plenty of potential. I did enjoy the play-through I had though.

If only they'd remake Populous the Beginning or just give it the Halo CE:A treatment
