meh, I'm from Manchester and whilst I wouldn't mind going to one I'm going to be chuckling to myself when my copy lands on my doormat Thursday afternoon meaning I can play as soon as possible and get the material map for preordering :D

Well this is also the best I can hope for as there aint no Midnight launch here in Aberdeen.

I could do my own Midnight launch and just hang-about Asda or Tesco's until midnight and buy a copy while imagining everyone else in the queue are also buying it instead of fags or groceries :P

EDIT: Oh and the game went 'gold' last Friday apparently which is quite late considering its released on the 11th. Day one patch springs to mind.

I've pre-ordered as well (also hoping for a Thursday postal drop) but wasn't sure about this premium map as not seen any mention of it on retaillers websites.

Anyone know if we are getting this or not?

All retailers, all copies (if you preordered) will get a burlap cloth map type thing. Pretty box standard.

There's always midnoght launches for these thing in the major cities. the only difference is the announced ones usually have something to do with the publisher or developer themselves. For instance in carlisle there's midnight launch but the store will just be open as if it where a normal day

Yeah, what's up with that?! I know they usually do that "due to extraordinary demand" s**t to find an excuse to bill people early (I have already been warned re. AC Revs), but usually they warehouse the game until a couple of days before launch and then ship...

I wonder if this early shipping is intentional on the part of Bethesda? They announced their natty gimmicky worldwide release date a year ago, didn't count on MW3 deciding to jack the week for their launch too (worldwide on the normal US release day no less, giving them a 3 day head start) and Bethesda's marketeers thought it might not be such a bad thing to let major retailers break pre-order embargo on the hush hush to bolster their numbers...

I decided against getting it from GAME because i heard shopto.net was the fastest for pre-orders...DAMN IT!

been sent today though so should have it by thursday or hopefully, tomorrow.
