Universally positive Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim reviews have raised its review average on Metacritic to an astonishing 96.
This proppels Bethesda's all-consuming fantasy RPG (Skyrim guide here) up the ranks to overtake Batman: Arkham City, which has an average of 94, as well as Gears of War 3, FIFA 2012 and Forza 4, which all hold a score of 91.
The score is based on a total of 60 reviews of the Xbox 360 version of Skyrim, and of those scores 21 are listed as 100/100, while the lowest of the bunch is still an 88% score.
Meanwhile the PC version of Skyrim holds an average of 95 based on seven reviews while the PlayStation 3 edition has an overall score of 94 based on 15 reviews.
