Sega details Sonic's history in 36-minute video feature

Celebrating 20 years of Sonic with this history-of video

Sega has put together an awesome 36-minute documentary on the history of its iconic mascot, Sonic.

Below is the full video starting off with the very creation of the character and how his first game came to be, to how Sega challenged Nintendo with aggressive TV ads and his later success.

This is unmissable for any Sonic fan, '90s gamer or anyone with even basic levels of self-respect.

Sonic Generations has just released and if you've not played it yet you're doing life all wrong.

Haven't bought the game just yet (Had Halo Anniversary delivered today so I'm currently shooting things in the face- thankyou Shopto), but I was watching some of the cutscenes for Sonic Generations and I've got to say how utterly fantastic Classic Sonic is as a mute. So much more personality and charm without actually having to say anything...If Sega are really thinking of locking him back up in the vault then they're making (another) big mistake.

    Now, on with the video...

If they actually remove all the crap from the history of Sonic then it should be a much shorter video.

Sonic 1 - 3 + Sonic and Knuckles. Sonic Adventure 1 + 2. Some of the handheld Sonics.

That's all that's worth bothering with I.M.O. every other Sonic is just a waste of time.

Sonic CD is also amazing. To be honest, you could scrap the Sonic Adventures as well. It's amazing how Sega managed to get it so right then did a massive U-turn. Pah.
