Gearbox relocating to new $61 million Dallas base

Randy Pitchford and team to shift over in 2013

Gearbox Software, lead by Randy Pitchford, has signed up for a new place to call its headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

The $61 million lease gets them a space in a new "mixed-use" space called Frisco Square, "220 apartments, 50,000 square feet of retail space and an 800-space parking garage," describes the Dallas Business Journal (thanks Joystiq).

The move is a way off, with the project's completion planned for 2013, when Gearbox is expected to make the move over from its nearby office in Plano.

Gearbox, the developer that finally completed and released Duke Nukem Forever after a 10-year wait, is currently working on Borderlands 2, which is already looking rather nice.
