Assassin's Creed Revelations enjoyed the biggest UK launch week for the series yet, according to data from sales monitor Chart Track.
The fourth home console game in the franchise didn't manage to snatch the top spot on the UK All Formats chart from Modern Warfare 3 this morning, but publisher Ubisoft has plenty to be pleased about.
Revelations' week one sales beat those of last year's Brotherhood in both copies sold (up four percent) and revenue (up eight percent).
The Xbox 360 versions of the game accounted for 56 percent of total sales, with the PS3 editions the remainder. The title's set to hit PC next month.
Chart Track also pointed out that Revelations was the first Assassin's Creed game to stealthily arrive as a Tuesday release, with around 61 percent of sales completed in the title's first 24 hours of availability. Only 14 Xbox 360/PS3 franchises have arrived on a Tuesday in the past five years, it said.
