The new Xbox 360 dashboard is set to launch on December 6.
The new dash, which some gamers are currently beta testing, will offer a fresh user interface similar to Microsoft's Windows 7 phone.
It'll introduce YouTube support and Bing voice search, some tweaks to Kinect's voice recognition, deeper Facebook integration and the long-awaited cloud storage functionality.
Starting on December 6 "and continuing on an ongoing basis through the holiday months", new, customised applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music will begin rolling out from world-leading providers in more than 20 countries.
Microsoft has promised to add content from almost 40 new media partners including the BBC, Lovefilm, Channel 4, HBO and Verizon, who will provide a mixture of live and on-demand TV, movies, sports and music, ushering in what the platform holder has billed as "a new era in television".
Microsoft has said the upcoming dashboard overhaul has been built with the philosophy: "All the entertainment you want, with the people you care about, made easy."
