Warner promises patch, offers advice

Batman: Arkham City's not out on PC in the UK until tomorrow, but already US players are reporting problems with the mouse and keyboard version.

Specifically, it's the Rocksteady title's DirectX 11 support that's causing problems, with multiple early bird players reporting a huge increase in performance when downgrading to an older version of DirectX.

Publisher Warner Bros has promised a patch on Arkham City's official forums, and offered advice on what to do.

We doubt the patch will arrive in time for tomorrow's UK release, so read up:

What we really mean is that we didn't bother to check to see if dx11 was working on our game and we delay it in hope that you go buy the ps3 or xbox 360 version instead thank you.

So what exactly were they doing for the last f**king month? Blowing their cash on hookers and coke?

Why does Nvidia keep partnering with, sadly a UK-based company, that not only spat in the face of PC gamers, but is now rubbing it in.

It worked too well on the PC and had to find a way to rectify that.

I was going to tease all the PC gamers with a comment to the effect of... worked fine on my PS3 without any need to mess with settings. Then I remembered Skyrim and thought I better stay quiet.

Arkham City on the PC is a real mess. When you first launch it, it installs SecuROM, Microsoft .Net and Games for Windows Live. It then requires you to enter your serial number twice before finally crashing back to the desktop from the title screen.

Seems to me they should have spent less time adding crap in for Nvidia and more time getting the basic game running smoothly.
