Video: 8 minutes of Sonic CD XBLA/PSN goodness

Footage confirms dual-soundtrack for re-release

An eight minute video of Sonic CD's Xbox Live Arcade re-release has appeared online. Watch it - NOW.

The footage confirms the digital release will include both the excellent Japanese/European soundtrack, and the rubbish North American one.

It also confirms that the game's still bloody brilliant.

Sega is readying the Mega CD classic for re-release on PSN, XBLA, PC, iOS, Android and Windows Phone 7 for 'late 2011'.

The re-release will feature widescreen display, iOS features, Xbox Live Achievements, PSN Trophies, PC Achievements and - most importantly - it will have the original Japanese soundtrack.

Agree with ya CVG, the American soundtrack is just really bland in comparison. The opening track 'Sonic Boom' would work better as a lullaby! I'm gonna be all over this like a dog p!ss on a lampost.
Sonic CD plays a lot differently than the other games, Sonic himself is a wee bit more cumbersome I think and the level design is more random and harder to navigate which makes the game a bit slower- more in line with the original Sonic game- but with way more need for exploration. You have to go into the past to destroy Robotniks robot making machine to ensure a good future- and of course to do that you need the Chaos- I mean Time Stones!
Still a fantastic game... and better than any of his 3D offerings. I cannae wait!
