Our friends and compatriots at Official Xbox Magazine have been deep in discussion with Mass Effect 3's lead writer Mac Walters, and have dredged up various lumps of exciting space debris.
First and foremost is the fact that the Citadel, the Babylon 5-y intergalactic hub, will have a firmer presence than in ME2. What's more a Citadel plot thread cut from the first sequel is finally being made part of the Shepard canon.
"There was a Mass Effect 2 plot that was a kind of callback to the first Mass Effect that was going to be on the Citadel, and we cut it. But now it's made a resurrection in Mass Effect 3, so I'm happy, but I can't say what it is," explained Walters, as part of an interview that features in the edition of OXM that'll be appearing on newsagent shelves tomorrow, November 30.
"That's the nice thing about trilogies, sometimes you get a second chance."
It's a long, long wait until the game arrives next March isn't it? Oh well, back to Skyrim...
BioWare's Ray Muzyka has said the script for Mass Effect 3 has changed and may change even further away from the leaked version that slipped out earlier this month.
