Did you know thatPlayStation icons Jak & Daxter turned 10 years old this weekend?
It makes us feel just a tad old to think that it was a full decade ago that we slapped their first game, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, into our PS2s and ran out into 'The Old World' - a spectacularly open and colourful place. Sony had finally got itself a competent answer to Mario's 3D adventures. And now we consider it... retro.
Reminiscing on the PS Blog, Naughty Dog co-founder said: "With each outing in the Jak and Daxter series, we set out to create a game that offered the player a new experience that built on the previous game.
"As you go from Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy to Jak 3, the story will connect across the titles as the gameplay and technical aspects of the games and the tools used to create them evolved. From being on foot in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy to the hoverboard and morph gun in Jak II to the dune buggies in Jak 3, new gameplay ideas were always in play and being fleshed out and amped up."
Of course if you missed them you have the Jax & Daxter Collection to look forward to on PS3.
It'll include Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3 - all remastered in 720p, 3D and with full trophy support.
