Ueda still 'working hard' on Last Guardian

Team ICO man reassures fans amidst rumours of his departure

Fumito Ueda has sought to reassure fans that he's still beavering away on Team ICO's anticipate PS3 exclusive, The Last Guardian.

"Recently, I have been getting a lot of questions..." he posted on Twitter earlier today (translation via Siliconera).

"Don't worry, as usual, I'm still working hard on The Last Guardian," he said, without directly responding to the rumours.

According to reports last week, the Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian creator has left Sony to continue work on a freelance basis.

Sony has refused to comment on 'rumours and speculation'.

    I know Sony pushed to hard to get this out and I don't blame them I'm desperate to get a hold of this game but I think the pressure they put on was too much and they've lost a real talent.

    Thanks for the reassurance. When the PS3 was released I had to choose between a PS3 or a 360. It was knowing that the next game by Ueda would only be on PS3 that made my decision - the guy actually is a genius. (I have since bought a 360, great machine)

    I'm actually worried about Last Guardian, looks awesome from the little we've seen but I seriously hope they haven't promised more than they can deliver. If the delays are because they want it to be truly awesome and the best game it can be then great. Just hoping it can be a real flagship for PS3 (And I don't actually have a PS3 just now, had to sell to raise funds but hopefully get another after Christmas).
