The new Xbox 360 dashboard started rolling at around 2am this morning, almost 12 hours after it was scheduled to launch.

Microsoft social marketing manager Graeme Boyd said on Twitter: "Right folks, sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience, but the dash update is now on its way to you."

It's not going live for everyone at once however, but rather in batches. "If you're not seeing it pop up yet don't worry, get to your bed and dream about how awesome it will be tomorrow," Boyd added.

The new Metro dashboard was scheduled to go live yesterday afternoon but was hit with last minute delays. The update introduces new personal and social features, plus cloud storage for game saves and Live profiles, among other features.

New apps for TV, movies, internet videos, sports and music will also be rolling out over the coming months.

Will the update really be 'like getting a new console'? Read our review to find out.

It scrolls left to right now, as opposed to up & down.

    That is all.

I did dream but not about the new dash.

My dream had black monkeys with red eyes who were chasing me round the house up to my bedroom. I jumped out the window and as I was in mid air, I noticed that there were hundreds of red eyed monkeys in my back garden staring at me with their arms stretched upwards waiting to catch me.

    Then I woke up.

I wish I did dream about the dash.

Well ... "rolling" is spot on. If you'd said "leaping", "racing", "speeding", or anything that hints at speed, I'd sue ya!
