Football Manager Handheld 2012 out tonight for iPhone, iPad

New 'Challenge Mode' and iOS5 features announced

Sports Interactive has announced Football Manager Handheld 2012 will be released around midnight tonight for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

The big feature this year is the introduction of a new Challenge Mode, which SI says allows you to "feel the pressure of being a manager in some familiar short-term situations that epitomise being a boss".

The mode has you play through relegation battles, injury nightmares, and deal with an unhappy squad in quick-to-play challenges.

An up-to-date database covering more leagues (Corbett Sports Welsh Premier, Blue Square Bet North & South) is promised, as well as new iOS5 features, such as being playable in HD on a HD TV using Apple TV.

On top of that, FM Handheld 2012 sports an improved user interface, more interactive news and the ability to easily identify the three key players in other squads via indicators.

Football Manager Handheld 2012 also lets you share shortlists and search filters with your friends as you load and save them.

"We're delighted to be able to finally announce & release FMHi2012" said Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson. "Keeping the Challenge mode secret has been a challenge in itself but with its inclusion, and all the other new additions, we believe that the game will be another huge hit on the app store and can't wait to see the reaction to the game".
