3DS Circle Pad Pro has 480 hours of battery life - report

Uses just one AAA battery

Although the Circle Pad Pro requires just one AAA battery, reports from Japan have suggested that a single battery affords up to 480 hours of play time.

The specific figure is provided in the Circle Pad Pro's manual, ONM reports.

The compartment housing the battery is said to be easily accessible, so you don't have to worry about fiddling with screwdrivers.

The controversial peripheral is scheduled to be released in Japan on December 10 alongside Monster Hunter 3G. The attachment is slated for a European release on January 27.

The Circle Pad Pro will available in Europe as a standalone accessory or as part of a limited edition Resident Evil: Revelations bundle.

Hurry up and do a second version of the console with the second stick included and you have my money.

Theres no way im buying a current gen model with this awfull peripheral, looks too much like the old mega cd 2 side attachment for my liking.

Everyone knows nintendo redesign everything so im happy to wait until the good 3ds comes out.

I think this will actually make the 3DS more comfortable to hold. My hands get cramped up if I hold the sides, I have to balance it in my fingers. My palms are used to touching the pad, they miss it!

Same here. If the GBA and original DS are anything to go by, we should have some news about the redesign come E3. And by then the line-up should be finally worth it with all the interesting holidays/spring releases. Big N finally finds a second wind, that's reassuring.

Echoing the above- I'd also like bigger ABXY buttons- I get cramp playing MK on the DS! I miss the buttons on the various Gameboys- WAY better!

Finally flogged my 3DS at a huge loss to myself, with a little help from 'good ol' Ninty' I ended up about £80+ out of pocket within 8 months. I was in two minds on what to do, especially as we finally have two decent AAA 3DS games in the form of Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart. But I have barely played on it to date anyway, maybe 8-10 times in 8 months and with the obvious release of a better re-design probably hitting next winter, I'd rather lose out now and re-invest when it has an even stronger game line-up. Like someone pointed out the GBA SP and DS Lite were huge improvements over their predecessors so it's worth waiting for in my eyes.

Hey Nintendo, why not just forget all this DS stuff and give us a new Gameboy?

The only place safe would be the toilet behind locked doors!!!!
Imagine the street cred if you were seen with that lot!!!!!   8)

So people will get the slide pad, play for a while, get bored, sell the system for a Vita and the battery will still have life in! Great news!

If you have to worry about street cred, then its safe to say you would lose it just for being seen playing a game. Anyway only a fool would rush out and buy hardware and then sell it. You should have been sure it had what you wanted BEFORE buying it.

Caveat emptor. Learn this all of you who buy machines and then sell them a month later. I'm seeing it more and more these days and I just think: bloody hell. Are you that stupid? Are you that fickle? Are you that rich, even? It's unbelievable. Basic common sense tells you to think about all everyday choices. But if you're handing over hundreds of pounds for something you (let's be frank) just don't need and never will then the principle applies even more.

To the poster who claims he lost £80: I'm glad you got bitten. LEARN TO LOOK AFTER YOURSELF. Did you have to buy it knowing what games were available at launch? Did you have to sell it knowing that decent games would eventually arrive and that you might have to re-purchase it? I got my 3DS for £150 at a time when I could still get the ambassador games. I thought about what I was doing, I held off, and got the best of both worlds (more or less) simply because I paid attention.

The ridiculousness of what you've done makes me think you never bought the 3DS at all and are just pretending in order to 'prove' how boring the 3DS is.

The most annoying thing is that you've made me type out this post and make myself sound like a complete moron when I have clearly played the consumerism game properly. So to everyone else out there: please don't sell your machines (whatever they are) just to prove a point. The only result is that you lose money and living the fanboy dream isn't worth losing money over.

    Thank You.

Um, Is it possible (however unlikely) that he may have actually liked the look of the launch games? I know I like the look of Street Fighter and PES.

As for the story, I think it's frankly ridiculous that Nintendo didn't simply launch a new revision with twin sticks and either retrofit/replace older 3DS models or even provide a circle pad pro for free to existing customers.

Here pal, firstly i aint no fool..........i have been playing games across TONS of platforms ive bought from the speccy/C64 days onwards, in fact there is probably barely a system since then i haven't owned.
Each and every one of them has been researched BEFORE buying........as for the 3DS what i didn't know was i was going to be one of the population who suffered from migraines playing it ok!!!

OMG.. Is it not all about the games and the acheviments/feeling you get playing the game and not what the console looks like!. From reviews I have seen this unit feels bettter to play. What I want to know is when did it all become about outside looks rather then the game you play!
