Standalone open-world vampire title does the business

Sony said today that inFamous: Festival of Blood is the fastest-selling PSN game ever.

The platform holder made the announcement as it unveiled the first in a new series of monthly PSN charts on the PlayStation Blog.

"Sucker Punch's standalone open-world PSN title is the fastest-selling PSN game in history," it said.

Announced in August and released in October, Festival of Blood sees supercharged protagonist Cole McGrath take on an invasion of vampires across New Marias. It offers a dark new visual style and powerful vampiric abilities for our hero to use and abuse.

The right game at the right price can make a lot of money. Doesn't surprise me that it's so successful.

I ended up getting Infamous free from the Welcome back program, didn't even play it until a month or 2 ago. Boy had i been missing out on a great game! Very fun to play. I'll definitely be downloading Festival of Blood in the future.

Sure I'll get this sometime in the near future. I like the fact that it's a standalone game and not an add on requiring you to own Infamous 2.
Let's hope this idea of creating additional standalone 'episodes' for some of our favourite main game characters continues.

Still not bought this, or finished infamous 2, but infamous was fantastic, and infamous 2 is pretty amazing.heard this is bit short in length, but looks a.blast. I think infamous is a heavily unrated series and much prefer the series to gta o or red dead redemption, and even assassins creed

Well deserved! Class me as a hater of DLC as I really despise it! But I took a chance at this and spent my own money on it  Anyway well worth the cash and the effort that went into it is great, the new flying ability is awesome as well.

it's really great. the only thing i was dissapointed about was its length. it took me 2 evenings (around 2 hours each one) to complete the story AND get 100% of the trophies, and i'm certainly no gaming guru. there's also nothing to do afterwards so the 'open world' immediately becomes an empty small space with nothing to do but climb around after getting the trophies and completing the story. however, this shouldn't deter peeps imo, it was still a great game and i certainly don't regret paying £8 for it. go buy it. :D

Yeah agree about the length but that's about the same length as full campaigns in FPS games nowadays :( but at least it was only £8 any more than that then I'd been put off.

Yeh its very good if a little short but don't forget you have the UGC missions if you want to keep playing afterwards and there are a few really good ones out there.

Personally I can't stand vampire stuff at all. However, respect to these guys for making what seems universally regarded a step in the right direction. If this is your type of thing, hope you enjoy it :)
