If you felt a little disappointed with the Metal Gear Rising trailer shown at the VGAs this past weekend, don't worry - series creator Hideo Kojima has said a true stealth Metal Gear Solid sequel is coming in the future.
Speaking on Twitter, he said: "Had same kind of questions @today's conf. Our ex-RISING also were aiming at feel good action w/ protagonist, Raiden as a Spin-off, not MGS & such concept was shared w/ New RISING by P*.
"For those of you desire for authentic stealth MGS, I want you to patiently wait for the sequel coming in future." We'll wait patiently, Kojima.
His comments follow on from a recent interview with OPM, in which he said he'll "probably have to make" Metal Gear Solid 5 "at some point".
With Bayonetta developer Platinum at the helm, Metal Gear Rising is taking a full-on action approach that doesn't sit well with traditional Metal Gear Solid gameplay, hence the recent name change which saw 'Solid' dropped from the title.
A special documentary focussing on the game's development is set to go live on the Metal Gear Solid website at 1am GMT.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is scheduled for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 some time next year.
