Just Cause movie is Scorpion Rising, 'third game on the way'

Hollywood film adaptation reportedly set to tell Rico's back story

The Hollywood movie adaptation of open world action series Just Cause will focus on the origin of Scorpion, aka protagonist Rico Rodriguez.

Announced last October, the adaptation is being overseen by producers Eric Eisner and Adrian Askarieh. The latter was responsible for the production of the Hitman film.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Bryan Edward Hill (comic series Witchblade) is currently writing a second draft of the film's script. The movie will be titled Just Cause: Scorpion Rising.

The report also supports previous stories claiming a third game in the series is in development at Avalanche. Back in October, Xbox World Magazine suggested the title is set for release in 2012.

    Not sure but I think that there's no multiplayer on JC2, that would have been fun to roam in good company. Probably for the next game. Impressive game I did not really enjoy (demo only) because I had a very crappy monitor at the time.

    Are you trolling? It is not 'ok', it is an outstandingly good game once you get to grips with the controls and the possibilities open to you. It has so much to do, you can easily play 40 hours and not do everything, and is so cheap now that it would be better to just buy it.

    I quite like the helis in GTA4, especially the little ones (I've done the taxi a lot on Deal Breaker for the top guns). I don't like the BFBC2 helis so much, apart from the Vietnam ones.

    Played 2, blast. What GTA should be to my mind. Like GTA though it had a s**tty story (at least it didn't take itself seriously :D ) and some appalling voice acting. I sense a B grade at best mindless action movie.
