GBA Ambassador games LIVE on 3DS

Mario Kart, Metroid and Kirby available to early birds...

As promised, Nintendo 3DS owners who purchased their handheld before the price cut can now download ten free GameBoy Advance games on their system as part of the Ambassador Program rewards.

The Ambassador programme has been designed to compensate early 3DS adopters following an earlier than expected hardware price cut

Nintendo offered 20 free downloadable games to early 3DS buyers in a bid to prevent them "regretting purchasing" the system.

The first batch of 10 NES games included Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda.

The selection of free GBA games include F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, and Super Mario Advance 3.

There's also Legend Of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Vs Donkey Kong, Metroid Fusion, Wario Land 4, and WarioWare, Inc. Not a bad bunch at all.

To download them navigate to the 3DS eShop, scroll all the way to the left and tap the Settings option, select 'Titles you've downloaded', go to the bottom and the GBA games will be be listed there. Tap on 'Redownload' and then 'Download Now'. The games will be wrapped up and delivered to your 3DS home screen.

We're looking forward to replaying Metroid Fusion, what have you got your eyes on?
