Black Ops, Call of Duty lead Google gaming searches in 2011

While Battlefield 3 was the fifth fastest rising search term of the year

Google has released its annual Zeitgeist 2011 report, revealing the most searched for terms of the year across a range of categories.

Last year's best-selling game in the US, Black Ops was also the most searched for gaming term, ahead of Call of Duty. Modern Warfare 3, the eighth most popular global topic on Facebook in 2011, didn't make the top ten.

Battlefield 3, which placed at No.7 on the gaming list, made a separate entry at No.5 on a list of the fastest rising Google searches of 2011, with searches for Battlefield 3 and related searches up 1,773 percent between 2010 and 2011.
