Respawn releases new blurry image from EA game

Another (sort of) look at what ex-Call of Duty devs are up to

Respawn, the studio set up by Infinity Ward founders Jason West and Vince Zampella, has released another teaser image for the game its putting together at EA.

Respawn debut title Screenshot
Like the last image, the concept artist has gone a bit wild with the application of blur, so it's pretty hard to tell what we're looking at. Have a look for yourself...

EA Games Label president Frank Gibeau has previously said Respawn's new project is a shooter that is "sci-fi oriented" and will allow the publisher to "compete with things like Gears and Halo".

This corroborated industry analyst Michael Pachter's claims that the Call of Duty creators were putting together a "Halo killer".

Cannot wait for this. I would like them to use the marketing line "from the guys who brought you COD4" but that wont happen.
Hopefully we'll get to see more soon.

Oh please... there are "teasers" and then there's this... just a blurry mess of blobs. Yes, I know it's obviously some sort of forest/landscape scene, but what is the point of this?

It doesn't tease nor excite, just irritate.

It's a spaceship with vampires and zombies fighting it out in the background over a princess and popcorn chicken.

It's a frog in a tutu doing the macarena.

    No, wait....

Is it wrong that I would play that if it were a game?

There just has to be an agreement with KFC that will enable consoles to give you a box of popcorn chicken after every level. That'll sort out replayability aswell.

Yeah but it'll cause a mass rise in fat bastards as well, nobody can resist the colonels popcorn chicken. Plus it'll put up the time between games as everyone will be stopping to get some of that lovely chicken down them.

f**k this i'm going to KFC for lunch.

Well I wear glasses and the world looks that blurry to me without them. So using this experience I can tell you that picture is of a yellow-swimsuit-wearing elephant laying on top of Herbie (the VW Beetle) whilst smoking a pink hued Cuban cigar and eating a twisted bratwurst sausage. Oh and Bobby Kotick being bummed in the background (literally) and enjoying it. He's got a big grin.

Pre-order cancelled. Whilst we all want this to happen i don't really think anyone wants to see it.

You can force a high res image to lose quality. You cannot force a low res image to gain it. You would achieve nothing by doing this. Nothing I tell ye.... NOTHING! (But try it anyway... they might have hidden the Colonel's secret recipe in there (in keeping with the KFC theme))

    Nom nom nom

A FPP (first person p**sed) game?

15 exciting missions of you heavily p**sed, trying to make it home from the pub without sicking up on the neighbours cat and p**sing in your closet.

Ahh, will that include a cat's choir singing level for female characters and a section where you try to fit your key in the lock by rotating the right analogue stick only to find its the wrong house. But this is just to get you ready for the later level of trying to fit your manhood into that fat munter that you picked up outside the kebab shop whilst trying not to spill her chips for an achievement?

It wouldnt be crystal clear, but atleast it'd define the outlining more. Its a shame this doesnt exist in photoshop yet: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread762988/pg1

But yeah, Topaz InFocus is the closest to it, with a few smart sharpen layers too. Of what I could see in the alterations, its a military guy on a cliff-edge looking into something.

Unless they give us a tool to unblur these images and make it a viral campaign, there's no point in releasing these shots that look like a 5 year old made them. Unblur them and tell us what you're working on.

Whats the point in releasing a "teaser" if people can't make out remotely what its supposed to be? It could literally be anything. They might as well just stick with "We're making a game" and leave it at that for now until they have something proper to show us.
