SSX delayed to March

Valentines Day belongs to Twisted Metal...

EA has delayed the release of its new SSX game, instantly canceling the one Valentines Day that guys actually cared about. At least we have Twisted Metal, right?

Needing more time for polish, EA has pushed back the game's February 14 release to Feb. 28 in US and March 2 everywhere else.

"Over the course of more than 10 years of making games I have not worked on a single project where our team did not wish, coming down the home stretch, that we could have just a bit more time," said Creative Director Todd Batty.

"Time to do all the little things that may not be noticeable during the first hour or two playing the game, but are appreciated over the course of days, weeks, months and beyond."

He added: "SSX was one of the games that always took the time to do exactly that. There is a reason why Tricky and SSX3 are still among the highest rated games of all time, and it is because even playing them today they still stand the test of time.

"Our goal from Day 1 was to re-launch this amazing franchise with a new SSX game that could live up to that legacy."

If you're a fan of the series and excited for this long-time-coming sequel, check out this trailer which harks back to the golden era of SSX Tricky.

Boo, at least it isn't a few months of a delay.

Still it leaves us with slim pickings for Valentines day as i too have very little interest in Twisted Metal at the moment.
