Sony Europe has put prices on its confirmed list of Vita first-party launch games and accessories for PAL territories (UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand).

While Vita will be out in EU on the same day, SCEE is yet to confirm a full lineup of third-party titles.
You'll notice the below EU lineup is missing a few carry pouches that the US has and, more crucially, the 32GB memory card - which SCEE says it's not planning on releasing at launch in PAL lands.

Sorry but £45 for a handheld title is just ridiculous I got a 3DS & I wont pay £40 for Mariokart 7 or super mario 3d land I think that these prices on portable games is outrageous.

£45 for the 16GB memory card?
£45 for Uncharted? I was hoping they be sensible and retail VITA games at no more than £30. And was hoping for half the memory card price.

What he forgot to say is these are the prices that Game will charge as they enjoy ripping you off. Supermarkets and online sellers will be much cheaper.

Those prices are insane.

Was it markyR who was defending Sony in a previous VITA thread saying the shops didn't have a clue about official prices?
Well like alot of us so called haters said,Sony are trying there hardest to kill this thing off before launch.£45 for Uncharted (no thanks) and £17.99 for a 4GB memory card!I paid £5 for an 8GB memory stick yesterday so i'm not sure how they work out there pricing.
Expect a price cut within months or this will be dead before next christmas.

IF this is RRP then you can expect the prices to be lower at retail, if people RRP the RRP for MW3 was around £50
(the above does not count for GAME)
CVG also missed this out
"Today we’re happy to bring you a couple of pieces of PS Vita news, starting with confirmation that your PlayStation Vita will come bundled with six AR Play Cards and a voucher code to download three AR games, all for free. Those games are called Table Football Cliff Diving and Fireworks"

Uncharted was and has been till this evening £28.37 as a pre order.

it is now £39.99.
The memory prices are stupid.
Plain old greed for a proprietry shaped RAM card.

Most of the Vita games retail price is £25 - £35 so after retailer discounts it'll be more like £20-£30 so similar to 3DS however Uncharted I guess being the big GAME and the high cost will mean closer in price to PS3 games.. Hopefully just a 1 off or even me who am so jazzed for the Vita will be concerned.
Still it's the one game I will 100% buy on launch.
However bear in mind this time download versions of these titles are meant to be 20% cheaper.

Sony, did you not learn this one from the last handheld released? Yes I know, Nintendo fanboy in a Sony thread, but after the 3DS pricing fiasco I'm stunned to find Sony doing something awfully similar to what Nintendo incorrectly thought they could get away with.
Obviously Sony have learnt from some of their "friend"'s mistakes, what with an Uncharted coming out at launch. That might be enough. Guess we'll see.

The game and memory card prices are a joke. Sony had a real oppertunity to wow us by having the 'big' games at an RRP of £30 for the which I would have thought fair and would have been very attractive, but you can do one if you think I am paying £40 for a handheld game, and doubly do one if you think I'm splashing £45 on a memory card. Get real.
I will wait until August for the price cut.

So to get a console, memory card, travel kit, portable charger and 1 game im looking at over £400? No thanks sony, ill buy one in the states this summer or maybe just bypass it all together.

sony your a cheeky bastard £45 for a handheld game "don't care how good the graphics are" is a joke.
shellster2 on 23 Dec '11 said:
I see they list a usb cable, charger etc in the peripherals list. so what do you get right out of the box?
also do you HAVE to buy a memory card in order to play a game? If so then Sony are seriously taking the p**s. The Vita looks like an amazing piece of kit but Sony really are greedy c^nts.
I'll wait until a price drop I think.
Mmmmgrolsch on 23 Dec '11 said:
No you don't need a memory card in more than most cases as you can save directly to the game card. But some games you can't so you need a memory card! Funny how Uncharted is one of the games you have to buy a rip off card for!
Basically they got you by the balls when it comes to the memory cards. There is no reason for them to cost so much other than they inflating the price to make the Vita to appear cheaper than what it actually is.

Forget it Sony I refuse to pay 50 euro for a handheld game I won't be buying a Vita on release day that's for sure. I will wait until you bring your prices down. Sony haven't you heard we are in a recession

I pre ordered a vita as soon as I could(I really wanted one).I have now cancelled,I will wait until sony realize they are ripping off the people who keep them in business. You cant even get trophies on second hand games, the big games NEED an overpriced memory card and you're gonna need a big one. It's going to be a great machine though. Damn you sony....
adam-ell on 23 Dec '11 said:
Always take a tenner off R.R.P if 35+, fiver if under 35... Uncharted for 35 isn't actually too bad. Memory card prices are ridiculous but, will a normal memory stick work? Hopefully 3rd parties get their act together.

Sony have completely missed the boat with Vita in my opinion. The world has changed and somehow Sony haven't noticed.
Sure there's a core of gamers that will buy one but that's not enough to recover all of the development costs etc. You need to win over the casual gamers as Nintendo did with the DS lite a few years back and that market has been lost to the mobile phones. I'm not disputing that Vita is probably more powerful than say an iPhone 4S and has analog sticks that will always be better for gaming than virtual ones but casual gamers will see prices of £20 and up for games (allowing for the fact they'll sell below RRP) and say no chance, I can buy 30 games for my iPhone for the price of 1 Vita game. And yes the 1 vita game might be very glossy but will it have 30 times more gameplay in it which is many of us care about once you've looked past the gloss?
The Vita is going to be stuck with the same old clones and sequels that the home consoles have because development costs for games will be too high. All of the innovation is in the Apple/Android app stores where indie developers are able to do their own thing.
For the record I'm not anti-Sony; I have a PS3 and had launch day PS1 and PS2s (plus replacements when they broke!). I just wonder about the future of Playstation as the decision makers at Sony seem to be a step behind the rest of the world.

Portable games should cost no more than £24.99 maybe £29.99 if it's a well made quality title at most.
Seeings as you can get cracking PC games for 20-30 max which have tons of hours worth of online/offline play then this is a rip off.
Felly117 on 24 Dec '11 said:
I don't think the Vita is marketed at the casual gamer.
The Vita isn't overpriced for the tech inside it. Maybe the price will put people off, but unlike the 3ds it is representitive of the actual hardware your getting.
If its like the Japanese release you get a USB charger that doubles as a transfer cable with the console. Cant see it being different.

So £45 is ok for a game which you have to play whilst anchored in one place but as soon as you can play it on a smaller device in whichever location you please and with comparable graphics...that's not ok, huh?
Goddam I'm not paying for an IPod Nano, it's way too small and portable! I'd rather pay the same price for a gramophone in a briefcase...
