Sony has said that the sales figures for digital download versions of Vita software are "exceeding expectations".

That compares unfavourably to the 0.95 first week attach rate of 3DS and the 1.06 first week attach rate of PSP, but that does not take in account the games Vita owners have purchased digitally via PSN.
Speaking at a press conference for Gung Ho Entertainment's Ragnarok Odyssey in Japan this week, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan CEO Hiroshi Kawano said the retail sales were "a figure in accordance with expectations".
But he went on to add: "Sales of the download versions of titles are exceeding expectations," and that games and peripherals are selling extremely well."
Kawano refrained from revealing any hint of the download figures.

so what sony are saying is that whilst all the sales figures we have like hardware and retail games are below expectations the one set of figures we will never get to see are the ones that they claim are "exceeding expectations".
does anyone actually believe that?
if you do i suggest you look at how digital sales went on the psp go

Going into week 2, sales are down by around 78%. As I predicted, the hardcore bought it in the first week which will be the case for the US and Europe etc., then there's a mass sales dive. If you've got any sense, wait for the price drop. Sony knows it's going to happen, more so in Europe.

I'd think a little harder before trolling/copy pasting stuff you saw on Kotaku.
Vita released Date: 17th December (Saturday) - 500,000 Units rolled out into Japan.
* First weekend sales come in and they sell around 360,000 units, then we get idiots like you that say it didn't sell as many in it's second week. Well it wasn't out for 14 days when the data come out so for first of, all that's not two weeks.
* Second and more importantly, there was only 140,000 unit left in Japan to sell so there is no way it could have sold as many. I mean you have to be some f**king idiot to not work that out. If you had bothered to actually look at the sales data, you'd have seen that all the Wifi only models sold out and only 3G/Wifi models were left. So many more people are waiting for the Wifi model to come back into stock.
