Tomb Raider dev to reveal new IP this year

Time for Lara to move aside

Tomb Raider studio Crystal Dynamics will reveal a new intellectual property this year, according to studio community manager Meagan Marie.

Writing in a blog post on the Square Enix Members website, Marie said the game will join the studio's "new vision of Tomb Raider" as part of its 2012 offerings.

"The New Year ushers in more than just fresh calendars and renewed resolutions. 2012 will prove to be a very exciting year for Crystal Dynamics, more so than any in recent memory," she said.

"Not only will our team be eating, sleeping, and breathing Tomb Raider, but we'll also be hard at work preparing to reveal exciting new intellectual property to the world."

While we're looking forward to seeing what's next from the veteran studio, we're finding it increasingly difficult to live in a world without a new Soul Reaver game.

Came in here to say the same thing, it's such a great series...it seems such a shame just to forget about it.
