Warner Bros. Interactive has announced Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes for release on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, DS, 3DS and Vita in summer 2012.
As always development duties will be handled by Traveller's Tales, which has given Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars the Lego treatment and produced and created a Lego Rockband title.
As you may have gleaned from the title of the game, although Batman takes center stage other DC Universe heroes will be making appearancesin the sequel.
The single image released shows Superman, but Warner has said Wonder Woman and Green Lantern will also be making appearances.
It's probably safe to assume there will be cameos from villains beyond the Dark Knight's rogues gallery too.
Here's the official spiel:
In LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, the Dynamic Duo of Batman and Robin join other famous super heroes from the DC Universe including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to save Gotham City from destruction at the hands of the notorious villains Lex Luthor and the Joker. Batman fans of all ages will enjoy a new and original story filled with classic LEGO videogame action and humour as players fight to put the villains back behind bars.
First indications that a new Lego Batman title was in production appeared last month by artwork printed inside a new range of Lego Super Hero toys.
We're quite excited for this, we'll take any excuse to pretend we're Batman.
