Starhawk senior producer Harvard Bonin has teased plans for plenty of free download content for the online shooter.

"Actually, I can't go into specifics, but we do have a bunch of free DLC planned," he told Respawn (thanks Joystiq) when asked about DLC for the game, adding, "and it might be surprising."
Users can also expect DLC for a price. "We, of course, have stuff we are happy to take your money for, too," said Bonin.
"We rethought our DLC strategy and we'll reveal more about it as we get closer to release," he concluded.
Sounds interesting. After a mostly successful closed beta late last year, Starhawk is expected to go into open beta very soon.

It looks like you're joking, well at least I hope you are. Glad they have some new ideas regarding dlc this time round as with Warhawk the user base was split once they added to the game.

I'd almost forgotten what this "free" idea was.
