UK-based Monumental Games reportedly on the brink

GamesIndustry.biz says the Nottingham-based studio went into administration last week, while Develop suggests its last 20 staff members have been made redundant.

Monumental worked on last year's Moto GP 10/11 for Capcom and 3D browser game Little Horrors using its proprietary Prime engine, as well as MMO Football Superstars.

In 2010, it was forced to shut its Manchester studio and let staff go after losing a development deal, which was thought to be for the Transformers MMO now being created by RuneScape maker Jagex.

Always sad to here anyone losing their jobs, more so if there a uk based developer. When i was younger i had dreams of working in the videogame development industry. Now i realise just how unstable it is, hope they all find new jobs soon.

Sad news and hope all affected find employment. Surprised that codies aren't up for the Moto GP franchise rights. AFAIK, Moto GP is far , far more popular in europe than F1 (judging by the crowds anyway) A really good product with team management etc, could sell lots ..I'd guess.
