It seems pretty nailed on that a Diablo game will eventually be released for consoles, but Blizzard still isn't ready to officially confirm this will be the case.

"Bashiok's response on Twitter was intended as a confirmation that we're actively exploring the possibility of developing a console version of Diablo III, as we've mentioned in the past.
"This is not a confirmation that Diablo III is coming to any console platform. Our focus right now is on finishing the PC/Mac version of Diablo III and making sure it's a worthwhile successor to the Diablo series," the statement reads."
Diablo 3 itself may not release for consoles, but the game's director, Jay Wilson, said at BlizzCon last year: "Our goal is to make a game that feels like it's natively made for a console. If we make it, we want it to feel like a Blizzard game and that we built it for that platform from the ground up."

I honestly don't quite understand why people care so much about Diablo 3 for consoles... Giving up the keyboard and mouse will completely change the way the game is played. ARPG's belong on the PC. Get your a** off the couch, and crush some demon face.

yeah, worked ok for torchlight but I don't see it working as well for diablo. New skill system looks to be setup directly for consoles...not that I've played it yet..haha.
