Armored Core 5 stomps to stores in March

Namco Bandai puts a date on its Mech invasion

Namco Bandai has confirmed that Armored Core V will hit PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 20 in US and March 23 in Europe.

The souped-up sequel comes exactly five years after the US release of its predecessor.

Namco has also confirmed that US gamers who pre-order the game through GameStop will get exclusive access to the 'Heavy Assault Pack', which contains "additional weapons and parts that will help give players a competitive advantage on day one".

Namco promises ACV to deliver "massive online multiplayer battles designed around huge team-based skirmishes on a grand scale, a robust offline mode, and a completely new atmosphere".

Players will also be able to customise their Armored Core with "countless" unlockable parts, letting them create their own unique war machines.

Developer From Software chose to delay the release of Armored Core 5 - originally due back in October in Japan - after feedback it received from a mid-2011 online closed beta.
