Rockstar has detailed a bunch of retailer-specific DLC goodies that those who pre-order Max Payne 3 can get their hands on.

The Cemetery multiplayer map can be had by pre-ordering at Game. US gamers will get that through GameStop.
The Silent Killer Multiplayer Loadout Pack is offered via Tesco in UK (US details are TBC), and includes a Light Anti-Tank Weapon, a Character Burst to quickly escape a deadly firefight, and the Listening Device Item that amplifies player hearing so you can hear enemies approaching you from a greater distance.
Meanwhile, UK gamers who pre-order with Play (or Best Buy in US) will get "a code that allows you to get the game's first paid Multiplayer DLC Pack for free".
Details on retailers for Australia, France and other regions can be found through the source link.

Is there anything that doesnt involve Multiplayer?, Sorry but Max Payne, GTA, Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, and any other game that was built from Singleplayer ideologys are meant to be just that.. Adding Multiplayer onto these games does not interest me whatsoever.

I totally agree!!!
Also what's the point in getting an exclusive multiplayer map? Surely it would only benefit friends if they ALL pre-ordered and bought from the same shop but otherwise you could find very few people actually playing it and therefore pointless!!

The main problems with adding multi player to games that were single player is you hope it hasn't detracted from the developers making all the effort they possibly could on the solo.
And in a few months the community will be almost dead, moved to a new game or their old faithful shooters and only the hardcore will be left playing. So you won't be able to have a few quick games every so often because everybody will be better than you.

Agreed with the above opinions - Multiplayer is a complete waste of time for games like these. Fun for 10 minutes, but ultimately just a diversion from the main reason you bought the game.
People buy these games for the single player experience, game makers need to realise this and focus their efforts on just that!
I also hate the fact that game makers split the additional contain amongst different retailers. I know they need to make their money, but come on!

shut up moaning tw*ts! stuff evolves with the times. single player is still there, mp has NO impact on it.
if you all were the brains of society, the wheel wouldn't even have been invented yet... c*nts.

Easy grasshopper, we all have different opinions. Respect that.

Ironic though coming from the biggest moaning idiot that's ever been on this site.
For every Uncharted 2 - where it worked, there's a Dead Space 2. That game was worse than the original and the MP was dead within a month.
So it could go either way. Let's wait and see.

I'm not sure who's the biggest idiot on here... but the game's not released yet, and could still be great fun both in solo play and MP. But; I'll wait for the reviews before ordering or buying anything of this (which surely will be available for all in the end anyway), till I know if R* have sorted out their gunplay demons that has haunted other titles from them in the past.

You know if you acted your age for once and had an ounce of maturity, you would sit down behind your PC and create a comment that would go towards an ongoing mature discussion, rather then throw insults around like candy, have a little bit more respect for your common forumites and contribute maturely to a discussion in future.
There is certain ways to express ones opinion, yours was not the correct way.

different opinions, fine. but moaning for the sake of it, which IS what it is: f*ck up! it's not an "opinion", it's a bunch of crabbit gits!

yeah, it was a single player to begin with. but so was eveything. now we have the internet! i suppose they still pen and post out written letters instead of sending email...
it would be like a young-un, brought up on multiplayer, complaining about the inclusions of single player!!

It definitely could be great in multi, Red Dead was for a time until only the high level players were left and idiots would follow and shoot you in free roam.
But the worries are valid, but SVD wants to add monster truck tires to mini's because they work on one thing so will work on another.
All i read when i came in was 2 people say there's no point to them (opinions are great) then one saying the dangers of adding multi (without saying if he thought it was right or wrong in this case) then another agreeing with their points then adding it'll be a 10 minute distraction for him.
Then angry boy charged in, hurled insults because he hasn't got anything else to him, and made himself look even dumber than he usually does.

worries would be valid... if they were taking away functionality. but adding functionality? come on! get a bloody grip.
it may feel like a bolt on just now, but how is it going to evolve, if it doesn't start somewhere?! and of course it could be a groundbreaking experience - since no-one here has actually even played it (yet sees fit to bemoan it nonetheless)

I agree with grasshopper on this one
, but ill try and put my point across more eloquently and politely.
As some may know, Im a bit of a Remedy Fanboy, so here goes . . .
The original Max Payne had 2 modes available when you completed the Game, Dead on Arrival and The Last Challenge, now both these modes arent exactly MP focussed, more time and skill based, however we didnt have the tinterweb so readily available back then and there really wasnt any requirement for it, never mind need!
With Remedy selling ownership of the IP to Take 2, we were alweays going to get a new and different Max Payne, this was to be expected, however, Remedy have been kept on as consultants with regards to storyline and gameplay and having read some previews and seen some videos, they have nothing but praise for what R* are doing and they think it will continue on the Max Payne story and franchise perfectly.
I kinda trust these guys, so until we see more of the Game, never mind play it ourselves, lets be optimistic and think that in R* we trust to deliver an all out action Game that Remedy would have been proud of.
See grasshopper, got my point across without any venom or profanities, try it, its easy
.

I was meaning in general that when people see multi on a game that was single they'll worry it's affected the single player side.
I don't actually think it will with Max Payne 3 though 1. Because it's Rockstar, they haven't taken away from solo by adding multi yet in any other game so I can't see them starting now. And 2. It's not like the game was announced 6 months ago and is being rushed out.
I'm still getting the game at launch and multi or not I'll probably enjoy it greatly.

As long as the mutiplayer does not result in a short SP. If it does then we have a right to complain. Lets be honest though, when it comes to MP most people stick to playing the big known brand games. Usually games like this are popular when released but people soon drop off the MP and return to their COD, FIFA and BF. Most times its not worth the addition.

My comment was not about whether or not Max Payne 3 should or should not have a multi-player - If I get this game I would be buying it for the Single Player and may play the Multi-player.
I still don't understand though why certain retailers would give certain maps only - they are only going to benefit and restrict online game play (on those maps) to others that pre-order from them. If they are not going to be available after release to all then they will have very limited use.
Tesco's (I think from memory as I can't remember or see the article now) at least offers something that can be used on all multi-player maps and not restricted to playing with a select few people that have the same map as yourself. I think it could be very frustrating having the map and not able (or have very limited opportunity) to utilise it because of the limited users who also have it.

They should have taken ideas from Deus Ex, they offered up decent single player goodies at retailers all over the net. Plenty of room for single and multi preorder content.
