The developer goes on to confirm the contents of the demo. It will contain both single- and multiplayer modes.

The single-player options serves up "roughly 1 to 2 hours of content" in two areas; "The opening level featuring the Reaper attack on Earth, and a level further into the game where Shepard travels to an alien home world to seek their assistance in the war effort", explains BioWare.

The co-op multiplayer portion gives you two maps, Slum and Noveria, and opens to all players on February 17. However, those who own Battlefield 3 and have activated BF3's Online Pass code will gain early access to this mode on February 14 by logging in with the same EA Origin account.

More details are in a Q&A through the source link.

15 GB seems like a lot of hard drive memory for a demo!

Not heavy on performance but neither was 2, the art style and lighting alone makes mass effect great to look at

Totally agree, a good art style imo, can make a game ageless and also pretty as hell! Just look at TF2, it still looks current!

Back on topic I reckon that 15GB is more towards the full game, not this demo, but I may be wrong...here's hoping this is as good as ME1, which I feel is the best so far in the series :)

I'm sure it's the install for the full game, those specs are quite reasonable for recommended

Yeah, and the low-resolution textures makes the game look like trash.

Ah, hardware specs, that'll be safe to look at with no plot giveawa..

YOU'RE MAKING IT VERY HARD TO STAY SPOILER FREE ON THIS C&VG

WHICH IS MAKING IT VERY HARD FOR ME NOT TO FIREBOMB ALL YOUR TESTICLES

A demo with an hour or 2 of single player? How about you poke it up yer arse. Who would actually play a demo o this and spoil the game for themselves?
I would have a shot of the multiplayer though, just to have a look.

*On the subject of the PC version am still debating whether to finish the trilogy on my PC or start the whole thing again on PS3/360. Not liking it not being on Steam but then the controls and everything else is better on PC plus it has all my save files, oh and it's cheaper too. Hmm I think I just sold myself the PC version, I'll just have to cope with Origin

DX9(?) / Unreal engine 3 with Windows 7  . Hope it's better optimized than the choppy DX9/UE3 Alice Madness Returns was.
