Fifth instalment in the Resi movie series coming this autumn

The first teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution 3D has been released.

The fifth instalment in the Resident Evil movie series, director Paul W. S. Anderson's film is due to hit cinemas this autumn.

If you hadn't guessed from the first 25 seconds of the trailer, it's a Sony Pictures release, hence the reason it feels more like an ad for Sony products like mobiles, tablets and PS Vita.

Yesterday multiple reports linked a mysterious new viral website, nohopeleft.com, to a potential Resident Evil 6 reveal today.

Additionally, a new Resident Evil compilation bundle has apparently been leaked by retailers. According to reports, the 'Resident Evil HD Remaster Twin Pack' will bundle Resident Evil 5 Alternate Edition with the HD remakes of Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica.

Capcom is celebrating the Resident Evil series' 15th anniversary, with an official event set to take place in Japan tomorrow.

Does anybody else think that the resident evil movies aren't so much about zombies as a zombie themselves.. a souless shambiling wreck that refuses to die.

It refuses to die because each film has made more money than the last. Afterlife made nearly $150 million PROFIT! They would be stupid not to milk it for everything it's worth.

Just for the sake of not complaining for the sake of complaining, just enjoy the films, theyre over the top and ridiculous but for an action/horror film on a friday night you can do much worse. Or wait till the new Silent Hill film comes out see how that goes. :)

leon kennedy, ada wong, barry burton all confirmed characters. he seems to be favoring the video game world more than his quite frankly retarted fictional one. but saying that paul anderson could'nt run a bath never mind a film set. That guy boils my p**s. You have a rich detailed video game world to make an adaptation out of, yet he somehow makes a film that make no sens. im sure in the second film the reason jill valintine was back in racoon city was because her partner(leon kennedy) was killed :?: and did anyone watch the forth one? the fact that i cant remember the name says it all really. if it ran at normal speed it would be 30mins long! f**king slo-mo, rock soundtrack, clones what the f**k is this guy doing. this is one of the few films that should actually be rebooted.

anyway sorry for the long winded post but i needed to get that of my chest.

Mila Jovovich will only ever be famous for Resident Evil and Fifth Element, its sad but true.. She only takes this contract because shes paid the most as shes the main lifeline.. without her, no resident evil. If only she resigned..

And quite possibly because she's married to Paul Anderson...

Surely then, if they did a complete reboot sticking more closely to the plot of the first game and didn't include 'Alice' and only just had characters from the game then that would make a lot more money. Just a thought.

The current franchise is an insult to the Resident Evil name and really needs to be put out of its misery.

I'm sorry but the Resident Evil games have a terrible story and that is why Anderson uses artistic license to change things, admittedly not to everyone's taste but someone's taste as they make money.

As for comparing him with Uwe Boll, that's a bit harsh as he must be the worst film director producer. Has Uwe ever made a film that made anywhere near the same type of money.

What, you don't count her role in the fantastic Parker Lewis can't Lose TV show, that also starred Corin Nemic (only Stargate fan's will know that name), in her meteoric rise to stardom?

Nah me neither, she's a terrible actress and only gets work cause she sheaths Mr Anderson's pork sword and isn't afraid to drop the clothes when needed to!

I doubt it would make more money. Most films that are completely faithful are usually s**t and come off as corny. If you want completely faithful, watch Resident Evil: Degeneration...which is just basically a long cutscene! Damnation, it's sequel, is also out this year.

And yes I always watch the Resident Evil films...it's turn your brain off fun :D

Degeneration was great, I got it on Blu-ray, good to hear they are doing a sequel.

For me Afterlife was the worst one.
