A listing on Xbox.com for Capcom's recently announced

If it turns out to be true it would be the first time Capcom has attempted something of this scale, the last entry in the mainline series topped out at two-player online co-op.
The latest entry in the survival-horror franchise is billed as a "dramatic horror" and is pegged for release on PS3 and 360 worldwide on November 20, 2012 with a PC version "to follow".
Have a look at the Resident Evil 6 trailer here, it's pretty sweet.

I'm guessing a 6 player Horde type mode.

Well the opposite is true if you have any intellectual capacity

I just hope they change the logo.
I really wish I hadn't read that the RE 6 logo looks like someone performing a sexual act on a giraffe. I can't unsee it.

I agree. Resident evil 4 rode a very fine line of action/horror and got it perfect, resi 5 got it wrong ie action (no suspense) and resi 6 'we want to appeal to cod fans' *hangs head in shame*

Took the words straight out my mouth, and Resi is my fave franchise by far of all time - not happy

With all it's emphasis on action and now co-op and multiplayer components it's made Operation Raccoon City quite redundant.

how can you not be excited by this? 6 player co op is amazing!

This is hype, producer from Resident Evil 4 is on the case. I feel this is going to be like 2 games horror and action oriented. I got a feeling the DLC is going to be some sort of femme fatal content, story mode from their perspective. 6 player co-op
that will be fun but i hope the game doesn't end if player drops out because that would be broken.

Surely this is for some sort of co-op Merc's game or versus mode?
After the backlash of co-op in Resi 5 surely Capcom wouldn't intentionally ruin it again by adding even more useless people to follow you around?
Survival horror? Not with these 5 t**ts bumping into s**t behind me firing their weakest gun!

Does anyone know if there are any franchises left that aren't going to have crummy multiplayer shoe horned into them? My favourite franchises are all being watered down to appeal to the masses. It's like having your favourite band start producing Justin Bieber-like songs to appeal to the little girl audience. Sure, you don't have to keep buying their albums but man, it's disappointing. Especially whenyou've been a fan from the beginning. Who needs atmosphere and tension when you can get vocally abused and tea bagged via the wonders of the Internet by a 12 year old bellend?
Anyone who didn't play online in Resi 5 knows how moronic the AI for Sheva was- now just imagine 5 of them.

NO HOPE LEFT!
Yeah, you said a mouthful there Capcom.

Could be great if indeed co-op, however as seen with the likes of Dead Island and Left 4 Dead, despite the promise it ends up being a bit of a chore as squeezing even four players into a small space is painful.. 6 could well be horrendous, but hopefully they'll come good.. We are overdue a decent Resi game after all.

My thoughts exactly, however I'm hoping the co-op with that many players is a separate online multiplayer mode.

This trailer has had the most impact of me of any trailer ever. I can now pin point the exact moment of the death of my favourite franchise of all time. It's the moment when you see Leon lean out from cover to shoot at enemies shooting back at him- In a resident evil game FFS. What's next, a driving stage? An underwater level? Such a shame, if you want to produce a genric shooter please do so, why do you have to re package Resi as one instead.
I 'll transcribe for you how the trailer played in my mind - "Do you like Resident Evil? Are you excited about the games impending release? Well we just took a dump all over the franchise. Please buy it."

100% disagree with you. I'm the sort to get scared a lot easier with horrors than normal people
but Resisdent Evil contained no horror. I was extremely disappointed at the whole "I'm invincible" attitude of Leon with his massive arsenal of weapons.
Just due to his cockiness, horror has vanished. So although Resident Evil 4 is a good game, it was the start of the downward spiral for 'horror' in the series.
