Sega has seemingly delayed Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines to autumn 2012.
Most recently planned for a spring release, the long in development project is in the works for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
We requested a comment from Sega this afternoon but were told the publisher's not discussing the release date at the moment. Sounds as though the game may well have been delayed, then.
The first details of an Aliens Colonial Marines collector's edition popped up earlier this month courtesy of a leaked product image, leading us to think we might actually see the game some time soon.

Been waiting on this for bloody years, most anticipated game for 2012 for me and now....very possibly may not come out this year at all.
Hurry up Gearbox, wipe out the nightmares that AvP reboot gave me, leaving me feel cheap, dirty and used like a thai hooker after a night with Gary Glitter!

There's nothing to play in the summer, there's too much to play in autumn/winter, get it done and released by end of August and the game will have a chance of selling, come October/November no-one will care because they'll be saving up for Halo, CoD, FIFA, Bioshock, maybe even GTA V.

The motion detector on the pad has been confirmed since E3 2011.

Ah crap. Been waiting for this for a long time, ever since I finished Avp as it goes (which I really enjoyed despite the mediocre reviews/reception). Still, if its going to be a better game because of it then its worth the wait. I do want the collectors edition though but haven't seen it on any Uk site for pre-order. Anyone else having this issue?

Maybe they are also still having problems with the 'Alien Blood'. All the videos I have seen of it are so uncharacteristic - Bright green, vanish before it even hits the ground and NO acidic quality!!! Especially noticeable in the scene with a shotgun. Alien above character - shotgun blast to head splattering blood and alien but blood disappears and character stands up unaffected!!!! This wouldn't happen in the Alien universe!!! Its things like this that will make or break the game! I do have high hopes for it and we definitely need a good 'Aliens' game Hope they manage to sort it out.

Getting really annoyed with this game now, as been waiting since frigging 2006 for this.
If they delay it one more, I'm cancelling my pre-order and will pick it up in a bargain bin, if it gets released that is.

It's better that they get it as near perfect as possible for release rather than rush it out and patch it afterwards (which is becoming all too common now-a-days).

After AVP I don't have any high hopes for this game. I hope I'm wrong as I love alien, aliens and alien 3. I just wish dev's would realise that a good duel with one alien (with good ai and scripting) could be just as entertaining if not more so than the usual idea of chucking hundreds of non descript useless aliens at you.
