MW3 DLC profile lock 'unintentional,' says Infinity Ward

Developer currently working on a fix

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling has said the restriction that limits DLC to a single user profile was unintentional and will be fixed.

The oddity was found yesterday, when CoD Elite users reported that other profiles on their consoles weren't able to access the recently-released maps for Modern Warfare 3.

Subscribers rightly point out that content's terms and conditions clearly state: "You can use this item on the first Xbox 360 console you downloaded it to. Access to this item will also be granted to all users on this first console."

In a statement issued to Joystiq, Bowling said the studio understands "that Elite premium members on Xbox Live who purchased the latest DLC content drop for Modern Warfare 3 are unable to access that content while signed into other profiles on the same console that originally downloaded the content.

"This is unintentional," he added, "and we will work to get an update out as soon as possible that corrects this issue and allows you to continue to enjoy the new maps."

    I can understand allowing everyone on a console access once the DLC is available to everyone, but won't they take away the exclusivity of Elite by doing this?

    that comment must be a joke right ? or are you saying that if you share a console with a family member you should both be expected to pay the £40 a year each just to access the same dlc. that like going out and buying a game and your brother has to pay the same price to play the same disc. idiot :shock:
