Sample PS Vita at all 600 GAME, Gamestation stores

Go hands-on at your local outlet ahead of next month's launch

UK gamers eager to sample PS Vita before its release will be able to try out the new handheld at any one of GAME and Gamestation's 600 specialist retail stores nationwide.

Sony says every store manager has been sent a Vita unit "to enable them and their staff to demonstrate first hand just what makes the new PlayStation handheld so special".

In-store demos include WipEout 2048, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, ModNation Racers: Road Trip, Reality Fighters, Little Deviants and Everybody's Golf.

Sony Computer Entertainment UK boss Fergal Gara said: "PlayStation Vita is an amazing piece of technology - but the very best way to make people realise this, is by putting it in their hands. The beauty and clarity of the 5 inch OLED screen, the ergonomic design with the dual analogue joysticks, the interaction of the rear touch panel, all come emphatically to life."

Are you picking up a Vita at launch and if so, which model are you going to plump for? Cast your eyes over our PS Vita review, if you haven't already, and don't forget the PS Vita release date is less than a month away now.

I'm thinking of buying myself one, but i'm not sure yet. But I do know that if I decide to buy one, it will probably be the 3G one.

Out of interested... why the 3G one? Considering buying one (wifi only) myself at the moment, I'll give one a go in Game.

My Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and DS/3DS will keep me going whilst I wait for the price drop. £230 for the console, £40 for the memory card, upto £80 for 2 games (upto £350), it makes me wonder how much next gen consoles are going to cost, what with the Wii U out at the end of this year. Patience pays.

I was talking to the manager of my local Gamestation today and he told me that he expected their one today. He is no lover of Sony, bit of a Microsoft fanboy, but he played one on Monday and loved it. He said it is really impressive when you see it and that he thinks it could be something great. High praise from him... it's got me interested.

That said, I'll have to wait for the price to drop.

Do you have a half decent mobile phone? If so then don't bother with the 3G one. Just buy the wi-fi one and use your mobile phone as a wi-fi "hotspot". You'll save £££ not only because the wi-fi one is cheaper, but also because you won't have 2 SIM cards to pay for.

I've tried the VITA in my local game this morning. The guy admitted he was a 360 fanboy and was interesting to see that he loves the VITA, he really wasn't interested in it. But he spent the night playing it last night and wants one now.

Anyway after playing one I pre-ordered one straight after at HMV, 22nd Feb can't come quick enough :D

I had a go when I went in to buy my copy of Resi3DS the other day. I wasn't that impressed with it.

PS Vita (Wifi) + Uncharted + 4GB Memory Card + Pre-Order Bonus Pack = £270 at GAME... I Think Its Reasonable!
