The exit was announced by Patrick Seybold, spokesman for SCEA, who provided a statement to Games Beat.

"We can confirm Susan has left SCEA. We thank her for her considerable contribution to our business and wish her every success in the future," he said.

As well as guiding Sony's online platform to reaching its current membership of over 77 million global users, Seybold regularly interacted with readers on the PlayStation Blog.

Sony hasn't yet announced who will be stepping into Panico's position.
